CHANGE IS THE ONLY CONSTANT REALITY
Assessment prevails in all the classes except XI and XII. We follow CCE [Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation] in the classes KG to Class X. For LKG to Standard II a number of worksheet spread over the academic session. The whole Academic Session is divided into TWO TERMS.
TERM I JUNE – SEPTEMBER
TERM II OCTOBER – MARCH
TWO Periodic Assessments will be held in each TERM
PA1 » PA2 » SA1 – TERM I
PA3 » PA4 » SA2 – TERM II
Recent changes in the examination pattern have brought in a paradigm shift in the concept of evaluation at the secondary level. The Periodic Assessments help the teachers to identify the areas of concern and accordingly plan remedial measures. Though Periodic Assessment is the most important component of CCE, no one can deny the importance of SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENTS. At present, Board provides for TWO Summative Assessments at the end of each TERM in classes IX and X.For the classes XI and XII same system of three term examination pattern continues both in the science and commerce stream.
XI & XII
Senior Secondary students write one unit test each every month based on the portions finished in that particular month. In addition to this they have terminal examinations . First terminal examinations falls before onam holidays and the second terminal examinations comes before Christmas holidays. Second terminal exam is either termed as I model examination and that includes selected 50% of portions out of the total portions. II model is in January with the remaining 50% of the portions. By the end of the second week of February XII students will complete their III model examination with full portions. External question paper is opted for the III model examination. XII students will be allotted two weeks study leave. But during this time also students can avail the service of their teachers if they are in need of it.
For almost all the classes the assessment schedule, schedule of activities etc are prepared and distributed among parents also well in advance for their information.
